Volvo 360 mid 1980's

Been a great and safe workhorse, though the springs are now shot from all the trunks of tools hidden under the rear door and readily available for equipment repairs on the farm . Long leaf springs and low profile tyres gave it a great ride down low even though its as heavy as abrick and impossible to steer into a carpark by anyone who doesn't regularly lift weights .
The engine suspension cylinders are a greta idea for preventing engine vibration onto the mai frame but like all volvo parts - just littel expensive . Speaking of high priced parts Not well disscuused is planned obsolescenecin the from of door handles . maunfacturere thought we hadn't notie but us post 60's rust bucket revivers have seen it all too often . 200 stresses an they break . at over $200 a pop ther is no surer way to send most old car owners packing .

The main annoyance over recent months has been the ageing electric window winders. sure there is planty of pent up buildup to stop m slidingbut gee it would be nice if they would stay working just a bit longer .
driver side wo't wind up so i've been leaving it up - no fum though when its hot the air con is nor working 9 what does work you may well ask . even on an averge morking the lack of side window means fogged up entry into side streets on the short trip to work . dear me you are dangerous

Me thinks the police don't think so but they don't like me now the window stays down ( its been warmer . Collegues at work kindly remind me " you\'re windows down " and I say thanks as though I don't alreday know I would like to get it fixed it was rather wet a few days ago but i park it so the SW shower sdon't rattle in so easily .

the worst rescent even t was eing fined $75 for leaving the window down . The police used the extra switch to turn the motor over suggesteing i ewas offering it to be stolen but tey didn't check that the enormous high security wiring loom on the dash car was still doing its utmost to frustrate even the most able of elketricians - le alone car theives 0 the would never get it working . The starter swicth is neede because to pull the wiring budle apart would take too long - besides it adds uniquess - thats my car i could say when it was stolen and I had to pick it up up in some posh station down in the big smoke .

eMore on its unsiuitability for trips acros auatrali in a later edition .
Anyway tell us about your old thing !
